Volunteering
Pack 825 is run exclusively by adult volunteers, all of whom have at least one Scout participating in a den. Because we are a rather large pack, by comparison, we need the help of all our parents to be successful. Without you, we simply cannot function.
These are the active committee roles in Pack 825:
- Cubmaster – plans and leads pack meetings; maintains good relations with Circle Ten Council and other local Cub Scout packs and Boy Scout troops.
- Committee Chair – leads pack planning meetings and maintains the overall quality of the pack, its volunteers, and committee leaders
- Den Leader – plans activities for his/her grade-based den (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, etc.); Pack 825 operates boy and girl dens separately, though we do activities together at the pack level.
- Treasurer – maintains pack financials and oversees our annual budget planning and expenses; also collects dues, payments for fundraisers, and sales
- Secretary – documents pack planning meetings and securely maintains important records like BSA medical forms, Youth Protection Training (YPT) certificates, and all other adult training certifications.
- Advancement Chair – coordinates logistics for obtaining Scouting awards like adventure loops and pins throughout the school year, as well as our annual rank advancement awards.
- Fundraising Chair – coordinates logistics for fundraising activities such as school festivals, camp cards, popcorn, Class B shirt sales, etc.
- Camping Chair – coordinates logistics for Pack 825's twice-annual campouts and related activities
- Pinewood Derby Chair – coordinates logistics for our annual Pinewood Derby
- Blue & Gold Chair – coordinates logistics for our annual Blue & Gold Banquet and Crossover Ceremony
- New Member Chair – coordinates logistics for Join Scouting Night and assists in preparing new Den Leaders for service in our pack
- Quartermaster – oversees our storage unit and ensures the maintenance of our pack equipment
- All Other Parent Volunteers – participate in our monthly pack planning meetings to ensure we have a village of people to help. It really does take one!
Many of the most common concerns that we get from parents revolve around the time commitment for these roles. First and foremost, we do not ask that any pack committee chair, leader, or volunteer go to any unreasonable lengths to be of service. We train and guide our volunteers to help them be confident and successful. Sign up today!
If interested, adult pack members can contact our Committee Chair for additional information.
