The Scout Oath & The Scout Law

The Scout Oath is essential to being a Scout at any age. More powerful than a promise, an oath is an unbreakable commitment about one's future behavior. And, it's stated aloud in front of witnesses — a fact that further enhances its power.

And what is the Scout Law? The 12 points of the Scout Law represent a Scout’s purpose and guiding principles. By following each point, a Scout acts with integrity and becomes a role model for those around them.

In Pack 825, we recite the Scout Oath and Law to open our den meetings, pack meetings, and nearly any pack activity, including campouts, because of the incredible power they have to positively impact how we live our daily lives.

SCOUT OATH

On my honor, I will do my best

to do my duty to God and my country

and to obey the Scout Law

to help other people at all times;

to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
